After my massively accurate (ahem) WWDC predictions, I just have to cover Apple's "Showtime" event as well. Quite frankly, I think it is a no-brainer. here's what I think. The name (and the invitation) clearly indicates that it will be movie-related. It really is no secret that Apple is trying to get into the business of online movie distribution. I also think that there will be no hardware updates for any of the desktops/laptops. Why? Well Apple updated the iMac line yesterday, which to me indicates that they wanted to get that out of the way before the special event. If a 24" iMac doesn't warrant a spot there, I don't think incremental updates to the Macbooks will be announced there either. It makes sense that the announcement will be mostly iTunes and iPod related. I think Apple will unveil their full holiday iPod line-up, in cluding a device that'll play the movies you'll be able to get from the iTMS (if you live in the U.S.). Possibly there will be a new Airport that enables video-streaming, but I do think that is a long shot.
